Due to adverse weather conditions, City of York Council have decided to suspend the collection of all green garden waste bins between Monday 11th January 2010 and Friday 29th January 2010 and concentrate on grey bins only. During this 3 week - period grey refuse waste bins will be emptied weekly and residents are asked to present their grey bin each week for this period. This will allow residents who have had their collection missed this week the opportunity to put it out next week along with any extra bags. They will continue to collect green bins for the remainder of this week as it is unlikely residents will hear about this change for a day or two. Kerbside recycling (boxes and bags) will be unaffected and collected as normal where possible. If a collection is missed then residents will be asked to put it out on the next scheduled collection day along with any extra. Collections will return to normal, weather permitting, from 1st February. All the Household Waste Recycling Centres remain open and available for use.
